Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) is a 6-year professional degree recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India under the Pharm.D. Regulations 2008. It is India's highest-level entry clinical pharmacy qualification — designed to produce pharmacists who actively contribute to patient care alongside physicians and nurses.
Unlike traditional pharmacy programmes focused on manufacturing and dispensing, Pharm.D graduates are trained as clinical pharmacists — managing drug therapy, counselling patients, reviewing prescriptions, and working directly in hospital wards, ICUs, and specialty clinics.
At HIP, the Pharm.D programme is PCI approved, set within a campus that includes a full herbal garden, instrument lab with HPLC and UV spectrophotometer, pharmacology research lab, and CPCSEA-approved animal house — giving students genuine research exposure.
